A "limonaio" is a room in a villa in Italy that is reserved for storage of the citrus plants in the winter. A refuse until the spring, the symbolism of the room, the fruit bearing trees and the terra cotta pots refer to the idea of a woman in waiting for a palce in the sun. Taken from a summer spent in Ceri, Italy, the artist studied tecniques of frescoe with Accademia Caeritie outside of Rome Italy. The school is located in a marvelous palace in an ancient gardens and has a lovely "limaonaio". Oil on canvas, 20 by 24 inches, framed, $800.00.
